New "Compact Generation" jigsaws from Bosch for do-it-yourselfers

· The most compact jigsaws on the market with improved power output

· “Easy”, “Universal” and “Expert” tool classes are precisely tailored to the needs of users

· Jigsaws fit the Bosch Saw Station PLS 300

As in the case of impact drills, Bosch has developed three classes of compact jigsaws especially geared towards user needs: “Easy”, “Universal” and “Expert”. The tools in all three classes are handier and more compact than their predecessors. They therefore comply with customer needs according to the results of the latest market research. They show that good handling and ergonomics of the jigsaws are of particular significance for all user groups. That Bosch fulfills this customer wish is confirmed by a representative survey carried out by TNS Infratest in Germany, Great Britain and France, in which more than 90 percent of participants judged the new jigsaws to be very handy.

The clear classification of the new Compact jigsaws into the “Easy”, “Universal” and “Expert” classes helps the user to make the right purchase decision at the homecenter. New design elements on the tools also provide valuable information: in a test carried out by Icon Added Value GmbH, a high proportion of those surveyed recognized the tool most suitable for their needs on the basis of design elements.

All Compact jigsaws from Bosch feature high precision and optimum handling. The tools are equipped with the tried-and-tested “Bosch Electronic” for material-specific working. High levels of user comfort are ensured by the Bosch SDS saw blade changing system and the connection for a vacuum cleaner on the back of the tool. Large softgrip coverings ensure good ergonomics and a firm grip in your hand. On all of the tools, the sole plate for can be adjusted for miter cuts. Left-handed users can operate the jigsaws just as easily and safely as right-handed users. A clear view of the sawing line is ensured by the dust blowing function which can be switched on and off individually. The strong motors with rated power inputs between 500 and 650 watts provide high power for all of the sawing applications. Moreover, all the jigsaws have greater cutting depths than the predecessor models.

For the first time, Bosch offers the “Bosch CutControl” on jigsaws: a transparent, fold-out sole plate extension that assumes the function of a cutting line laser beam. The Bosch CutControl enables good orientation and precise guidance along the cutting line, both when performing standard cuts and when performing miter cuts. It comes complete with the tools in the “Universal” and “Expert” classes, and can be purchased as an accessory for the jigsaws in the “Easy” class. Another new feature is the practical hook on the sturdy cable grommet, making it easy to store the jigsaws during work breaks.

All Bosch jigsaws have as standard a linear mass balance for exemplary smooth running and low-vibration sawing. This reduces vibration that otherwise occurs during sawing to a minimum, guaranteeing precise cuts and low-fatigue working. All Bosch jigsaws for do-it-yourselfers are compatible with the modular Bosch Saw Station PLS 300, the optimum equipment for guided cuts in laminate, parquet, plastic, or aluminum, for example.

Bosch PST 700 E – the “Easy” entry-level class

The jigsaw in the “Easy” class – the Bosch PST 700 E – is approximately 20 percent smaller than the predecessor model, therefore meeting expectations with regard to optimum handling. Moreover, it weighs only 1.7 kilograms. It is ideal for the needs of those users who occasionally work on smaller sawing projects and are less experienced in the use of jigsaws. With its 500-watt motor and a no-load stroke rate that can be set between 500 and 3,000 spm, it offers high performance and a great deal of comfort. The continuously variable stroke rate control using the accelerator switch enables smooth sawing starts in all materials. The Bosch PST 700 E provides cutting depths of up to 70 mm in wood, 10 mm in aluminum and 4 mm in steel.

Bosch PST 800 PEL – the “Universal” class

The jigsaw in the “Universal” class – the Bosch PST 800 PEL – is designed for pragmatic do-it-yourselfers who perform even medium-sized projects themselves, especially in order to save costs on professional tradesmen. They expect high performance and precision combined with perfect handling. The tool is twelve percent smaller than the predecessor model and weighs 2.0 kg. With its 530-watt motor, it saws wood up to 80 mm thick. The maximum cutting depth is 12 mm in aluminum and 5 mm in steel. The 4-stage orbital pendulum action ensures rapid sawing progress and a long lifetime of the saw blade.

Bosch PST 900 PEL – the “Expert” class

The jigsaw in the “Expert” class – Bosch PST 900 PEL – meets the high expectations of experienced, passionate do-it-yourselfers and are also suitable for complex renovation projects. The tool features high sawing performance, precision and robustness. It has a powerful 620-watt motor, and the no-load stroke rates can be set between 500 and 3,100 spm. The do-it-yourselfer can use the accelerator function, the setting wheel for stroke rate preselection integrated into the accelerator switch, and the pendulum action switch to adjust the jigsaw to perfectly suit the material being worked on. A clear view of the sawing line is ensured by the new powerful LED of the Bosch “PowerLight”. In conjunction with “Bosch CutControl”, the cutting line can be tracked easily and precisely. The “Expert” class achieves large cutting depths of 90 mm in wood, 15 mm in aluminium, and 8 mm in steel respectively.
